Could not power up, no matter what combination of Pi, cable and power cords I used. Spent four weeks going back and fourth with Waveshare support, being asked repeatedly to make sure I used THEIR software and that would fix the problem. (Hard to use software when the screen DOES NOT POWER UP). After finally admitting it was dead, Waveshare decided that since I didn't buy it from them, they weren't responsible for it. Of course, they waited long enough that now I can't return it. So I'm out $70 AND still need a screen.Horrible customer support, bad product. Sadly, Waveshare doesn't get the hit, this company does, because I can't leave Waveshare a negative review directly.

Like some other reviewers - I thought the screen was DOA, but be sure to check the documentation they've linked. You need to paste a couple of lines in the config.txt file for it to work. This is what worked for my Pi 3B+, no parenthesis: (dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d#DSI1 Usedtoverlay=vc4-kms-dsi-waveshare-panel,7_0_inchC,i2c1)

A bit more than I wanted to pay for just a bare screen. I had problems getting it to work with octopi, but I downloaded a new version of the desktop os and it came up fine. There is no information included. It would be nice if there was something. Has a problem with hanging the pi when doing apt updates. Vendor refunded money.

I purchased this screen to use in the SmartiPi Touch Pro - Case for The Official Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen Display and it fits with some alterations to the case to get everything to line up. Once everything was mounted getting this "Plug & Play" screen to lightup took a lot of research and additional coding to come alive. This only AFTER loading the proper drivers from WaveShare for this specific screen, as the plain vanilla waveshare drivers WILL NOT WORK! .Then the real problems began, getting it to flip 180 so it would read properly with my mounting setup. While I was also dealing with a learning curve with Raspbian Buster (Octopi) coding I finally got it to rotate 180 with the correct command in the cmdline.txt files (video=DSI-1:1024x600@60,rotate=180) and the touch to function properly with the correct command in the config.txt file (dtoverlay=WS_7inchDSI1024x600_Touch,invertedx,invertedy). Of course all this is easier if you use the Raspbian Bullseye OS with the desktop & it's menus rather than having to use the Octopi OS with no desktop and doing the coding via SSH when using it for a 3D printer Control! It's a really nice screen for the $ spent and the touch works sweet compared to a resistive touch screen!
