This manufacturer provides both 10mm (3/8) and 16mm (9/16) 60ft Tow Ropes. This review updates for the 16mm versionI previously provided a 4-star review of the 10mm version. (Revised 5'star 4/9/2025.after vendor removal of over-optimistic load table) Since I am only allowed one review for both products, the original 3/27 review is below after this one. You may wish to read it first. The remainder of this update will compare 10mm and 16mm versionsTow Rope Comparison: 10mm vs 16mm SETYPARY1. Strength & Safety- 10mm Rope:- Working Load Limit (WLL): 1501 lbs- Tensile Strength: ~4500 lbs- 16mm Rope:- Working Load Limit (WLL): 2000 lbs- Tensile Strength: ~6000 lbs2. Performance (Max Safe Speeds)| Riders | Weight (lbs) | 10mm Rope | 16mm Rope ||--------|--------------|-----------|-----------|| 1 | 170 | 29.0 mph | 34.3 mph || 2 | 340 | 20.5 mph | 24.2 mph || 3 | 510 | 16.8 mph | 19.8 mph || 4 | 680 | 14.5 mph | 17.1 mph |3. Cost- 10mm Rope: ~$13- 16mm Rope: ~$334. Cost-Benefit Summary- The 16mm rope offers ~10% higher safe towing speeds across all rider weights.- Its WLL is ~33% higher, giving more buffer under load.- However, it costs 2.5x more than the 10mm version.- If you're towing light or moderately, the 10mm is more cost-effective.- If you want extra safety, strength, or durability, the 16mm is worth the premium.5 stars.Stronger, more abrasion resistent and durable 16mm, vs 10mm Tow RopeThis 60' hank of 3/8" (10mm) polyethylene water-sports rope is a nice value at its $20 regular price, and exeptional when bought with an Amazon Deal 40% coupon at $14.I do caution however that some of the marketing information, particularly the Rider#/Max Weight/ Rope Tensile Strength table, is a bit optimistic in my view. The specs claim a 4200lb tensile strength, which is within typical of these ropes , nominally 4000 lb. That is ok. But the table is useless as it does not state the assumed boat speed, and since the tensile strength required varies by the Speed squared, speed makes a tremendous difference. I back-calculated for us: its about 24mph for all entries. Now why is this table optimistic? A competent engineer would never count on using the full tensile strength of the rope.He would discount it for a safety factor. And in this case, a safe working load is 1/3, say 1300lb.Lets recompute the listing table for approximate Safe Towing Speeds based on the realistic load limit. Rather than 1300lb, I used 1501lb as a safe working load. This makes entry one the same:1 rider 170lb 24mphThe rest:2 rider 340lb 20mph3 rider 510lb 17mph4 rider 680lb 15 mphAll now based on the typical "rule of thumb' of a 3x safety factor. Some might argue that, in this case, "nothing happens" if the rope breaks, "3x is ridiculous" No! If you are in a busy area and boats are crossing port and strarboard. A pilot can easily assume your rider "won't be there" when he gets there. But then the rope breaks? Safety factors are always correct practice. A second reason: polyethylene degrades notoriously when exposed to sunlight (UV). What if your rope has been sitting out open in your boat for a year? Finally, I keep my rope in my boat all the time. One fortunate effect of the "speed squared" law is that force is also reduced dramatically as speed lowers. You can safely tow a disabled 19' SeaRay i/o weighing 3000lb - as long as you keep your speed below 5mph.So this rope also makes a useful emergency tow rope - both for you and others. Just keep tow speed down to 5mph or less. Now how to rate it. It is a nice generic cheap (polyethelene) sports rope, similar to many others, but at a good price. It would deserve 5 stars on that basis. But the grossly inflated rider tensile strength limits is, to me, inexcusable. That 'they all do it" is no excuse. I want to penalize to 3 stars. But will compromise on 4.4/9/2025 - it appears the over-optimistic load table has been removed! Congratulations vendor! Raising to 5 stars

This is the best tow rope I have ever used. I ordered it to tow our 3 person super mable tube behind our tri-tune with a 150 HP motor, the super mable is a formidable tube and this rope is built for the job. I measured the relaxed rope diameter at 5/8 inch. The rope is high quality and well made; I really like that it is soft to handle and doesn't tear up my hands like other tow ropes.Other features that make this a great tow rope is the high visibility color and buoyancy, it's a big plus that it floats and value the safety. I wasn't expecting the rope to come with a carry bag and was pleasantly surprised with how nice the bag is; it has lots of extra room and easy to fit the rope in. This tow rope has enhanced our time on the water, and I would order it again.

Purpose for Product: We do a lot of prospecting in mountainous terrain, often needing a little extra somethingto make the inclined descent or ascent easier.Product Inspection: Clear re closable bag containing a 60' x 1/2" diameter braided blue and yellow plasticrope that is held in coil by a black Velcro strap. Each end has a 5" loop followed by a six inchfoam grip. A very nice storage bag is included.Product Performance: This rope has all the tensile strength needed for our application. This rope is mildlyabrasive resistant but it will not have much contact with the rock surfaces so no worriesthere.Summary: Price point makes this rope budget friendly considering the loop ends with just enough foam stuff to makeit throwable and not worry about injuring someone on the other end. If I only need it once it will be moneywell spent.

Solid rope with good thickness and zero fraying. Easy on the hands and doesn’t tangle. Floats well, and the color stands out in the water. Comes with a decent bag and a strap that actually works. No complaints.

I ordered the 6000lb 60FT Boat Tow Rope for other uses than a boat. I have a small farm and always needing to use a rope to secure things, hoist things and put pressure on limbs to pull them around ground structures. I have plenty of chains and 100 ft ropes but this one was 60 ft, lightweight, has the loops in both ends and with 6000 lbs stregnth it will be perfect for my uses. Not sure the exact material it is made out of but ordered because boating ropes are usually resistant to rot when they get wet. The rope comes with a breathable storage bag and a velcro strap to keep it wrapped up. I am happy with the quality and the vivid color makes it easy to see.
