We are refitting our kitchen and we decided that we would go for underfloor heating this means new floor very large thick tiles throughout the kitchen however we have also decided on continuing through the hallway and other downstairs rooms. This is a big job that we are doing ourselves so we decided to invest in a good quality tile cutting machine. We took advice on this from a professional tiler that we know because we were split between a manual and powered machine. This manual cutter is the machine our friend advised to purchase. this is not a cheap machine so we would not have just gone for this on whim but when someone who does this thing for a living you accept their advice. this machine arrived a few days ago as we are not ready to lay the floor yet I decided to test the machine with a tile that was cracked and chipped on arrival. My first cut was not successful because I didn't apply enough pressure, however once I had applied the right amount of pressure the tile cut perfectly.the cutter machine is large and heavy, I am glad we don't need to move it about too much as this machine is 20kgs in weight. The base is made from reinforced aluminium with aluminium side platform guides. The 2 steel guide rails are a sturdy 25mm diameter. There is a magnetic aluminium pressing block that can be positioned at any point along the cutting area making splitting the tile very easy. the bearings on the slide rail run very smooth when cutting the tile. This maximum cutting length of this machine is a massive 1200mm and the minimum cutting width is 35mm. you can cut tiles any thickness from 6mm to 15mm. the tiles we are using are a thick 10mm and it cut the practice one without any problems. All in all this is a great tile cutting machine that is excellent for our purpose but is a far more professional machine than I would normally need. The is a sturdy machine that will be a great workhorse one the coming months as we re tile the whole downstairs. recommended..

The ROJOO 48-inch Double Slide Rail Manual Tile Cutting Machine is a manual tile cutter designed for professional or DIY users. Although I'm no expert, I'd say though that it's probably geared more towards professionals, as due to its size, it's primarily for cutting larger tiles, for example oversized tiles, bigger floor or wall tiles etc. It's 55" (1.4 metres) tall (as tall as me), with a maximum cutting length of 48" (1.20 metres), a minimum cutting width of1.38" (35mm), and cutting thickness between 0.24" - 0.6" (6mm - 15mm).The machine features a dual rail system, which offers smoother, more accurate cuts. This ensures greater stability and precision when cutting tiles. The frame is made from solid materials, which should ensure durability and longevity even with regular use. We found that the solid build also enhanced stability during the cutting process.Being a manual cutter, it does not require electricity, which can be a pro if working professionally on a site with limited access to power. It relies on scoring the tile and snapping it with pressure. We needed to re-tile a kitchen splashback and this made the job a breeze compared to the very small and not so sturdy tile cutter for DIYers we have. We are now looking at the re-tiling the rest of the kitchen and bathroom, as well as tiling our downstairs cloakroom now we have this tool to make it so much easier. The only two small downsides are that, firstly, no instructions were included in the box. There are instructions, including a video, on the product description page, and my husband has used tile cutters before so could find his way around it, but it's more convenient to have them on a leaflet in the box to easily refer to if needed. Secondly, it's a little large and heavy, so not the most convenient thing to transport from job to job. That said, some weight is to be expected for something as good a quality as this, and the advantages to this tile cutter most certainly outweigh these two minor niggles. In short, this is an excellent tile cutter, particularly for those working with oversized tiles or looking for a manual cutting solution, and although solid and long, it is still portable. Its precision and durability make it a great choice in its category, and we, well my husband in particular, are delighted with it.

Gotta say when this thing was delivered I had no idea what it was - it is absolutely massive and is incredibly heavy too. I'd say it's double the size I expected it to be. My bad for only looking at the image before ordering!Turns out this is for cutting 4' long tiles so is really heavy duty and it totally feels it too once you have it set up. Even a hurricane wouldn't shift this thing.Anyway I tried it out on some 1cm thick 12" ceramic tiles I have and it sliced them up without breaking a sweat. So much easier to use than my current 'store brand' cutter which is very flimsy by comparison and tends to slide around the floor whilst I'm trying to pull the lever along to score the tile.Anyway I whole-heartily recommend this, it's well made and cuts cleanly and easily. Just make sure you check the size of it before ordering!
