they work! stick is good, the cut is good on my first passand of course, priced right... I ding these up a lot, so glad to replace em more often v greenI use different Festool saws, the alignment to the guard is not perfect... so they get replacedmore vs. if you use one saw, one blade...glad to see 3rd party replacements like this for da green... recommended, no issues, great value

This splinter guard tape works just as the OEM tape. Easy to replace and a nice size roll for the price (almost half the price of the OEM).

If you are reading this, you likely know Festool makes the best woodworking power tools in the world. Their tracksaws among them. I have had a TS-55 for 10 years. Still going strong. There is no better or safer saw for breaking down sheet goods. Period.To get the most from your saw, you really need to keep the upper surface cut at zero clearance. You will notice if its not, particularly when crosscutting surface veneer on plywood.That's the purpose of this tape. A new strip should be installed whenever you change blades, and, unfortunately, after every time you make an acute bevel cut(s).Tip: Be very careful and attentive when peeling off the orange adhesive cover strip! The main strip is polyethelene, and you can peel off the adhesive with the orange overcover strip, ruining the tape entirely. Peel up a little corner of the orange, make sure the adhesive didn't come with it by feeling that the main tape is sticky. Then proceedTip...On the first use of your new taped track with a sacrificial scrap board or MDF underneath, a small amount of the rubber edge will be trimmed to zero clearance with the blade. Have the track starting end positioned for minimum track ''overhang' but with the saw firmly and completely on the track before plunging at 90 degrees. Likewise on the opposite end, it's best to make as long a cut without the saw 'going off the end'..This to evenly trim the edge as completely as possible. Obviously, the track should be clamped down with the sliding F-clamps. Never rely on the track 'grip strip' to prevent slippage.Tip: I never liked the concept of cutting into my MFT tabletop. I cut several 'to size' 1/4 MDF sheets to use as a spacer between the tabletop and workpiece bottom. I can shift them around a bit as they get 'grooved up' - then cheaply replace them. This assures zero clearance on the bottom. Not so if a groove is there. I then made myself a wall chart with the proper depth settings to use with the spacer for all common thickness materials after careful test trials.This tape works as well as the original. Now enjoy the best non-splintering cuts possible from a circular saw.

The splinter guards on my Festool tracks can get pretty messed up. I make quite a few beveled cuts and that takes its toll. I've bought 3rd party replacements before, with less than optimal results, typically from weak adhesive. This guard, on the other hand, sticks as well as the OEM product at about 60% the cost of the OEM product. I think it works as well as the OEM version. This is a 197" strip and I don't own the 5M track, so this is enough splinter guard to cover a couple of my tracks. I think it's a great value and will buy it again.

This arrives rolled up and a bit curley but straightened out well just left lying flat for a day.Adhesive seems fine and the tape is the same size as what is found on many saw tracks - seems to be a good match to Festool and Makita.The tape trimmed up nicely and seems to do as good a job as others - but is significantly less expensive than some -Good value and works as it should - makes it affordable to replace more often and keep your cuts clean.

This 495209 Splinter Guard Tape for Festool Track Saws is made of quality material and adheres well. They work as well as the OEM splinter guards at a better price. If you're like me, you want to make sure your investment of your Festool track saw has a good splinter and this one works very well. I highly recommend it!
