It did bolt in just fine. Not sure of it's durability. Mostly plastic construction. It does fit up to a John Deer push mower.

The pull string ( rope ) broke on my Craftsman push mower and this part is identical to my recoil starter . The old one was riveted onto the Briggs and Stratton engine so you have to drill those out to replace it. This part came with 4 small bolts ( and for some reason , that big nut, which I didn't need or even know where it goes ) to reattach the new part. The only thing missing is that small crimp piece on the cord that keeps it from retracting too far into the housing ( boy, is that a pain to remove and swap over ) . Oh, and one more thing: the cord length is about 7 foot long if you need to know that.
