These are really nice and the video quality it great. Works at extreme darkness. I get that they are for scoping a distance but I wish there was a zero zoom.

I was hoping to do some nighttime bird-watching with these "goggles." Dozens of turkey vultures have been roosting overnight in the trees near my house, and I was hoping to get some stealthy footage of them sleeping. Unfortunately, these "night vision goggles" weren't what I was expecting based on the description, so no vulture spy footage for me.There are some things I like about them, but I'll start by listing the things that were not as I expected:Cons:* Goggles? Nope. The product description called them "goggles" and "night vision goggles," so I expected...well, goggles. Something that fits close to the face, like real night vision goggles, or a VR headset. Instead, this binocular-shaped and -sized device is held at a distance, like a phone.* Shaky: Because there's no point of contact against the forehead, it's difficult to hold the binoculars steady when tracking action or zoomed in. The focus ring is by the lens, where it would be on binoculars, so if you're focusing, zooming, or taking photos, the only support is from one hand.* Buttons: All controls are contained in six multi-use buttons on top of the unit. They aren't lighted, so if you're in the dark, you better have them memorized. It would be nice if the zoom and shutter buttons were on the side rather than the top, so they could be used with a fingertip while still gripping the unit.* Image quality: The screen, photos, and video are grainy and low resolution. The digital picture is not as bright as a phone screen, and in color mode, the colors are dull. The screen is small, about 1/4-1/3 the size of an average phone screen.Pros:* Video and photos: I like how it's possible to take photos and video at the same time! Also appreciated is the socket so the unit can be screwed to a tripod.* Downloading photos to a computer is easy.* The case is nice looking and protective.* Rechargeable! These digital binoculars might fit some people's needs, but for me, they weren't what I expected based on the description.
