They do what they are suppose to. but the break easily, I guess I'm not supposed to use my stove knobs after I put the protective covers on?

I searched for hours looking for a set of protectors that did NOT require at least 3 full inches between center points of adjacent stove knobs. These actually said nothing about that, so I used the outer dimensions of these in descriptions and hoped for the best. They fit perfectly and I want to show the type of older stove they will work on. My grandson tried them first thing and gave up. I was able to open the hatch without too much trouble to start a burner. These are a win for me and might work for others looking for smaller covers. My stove knobs are 1 7/8 inches wide and 2 7/8 inches apart on center.
