save yourself some headache and time by just going with the better quality fabric rim tape options...these are no good. obviously, they've worked for some people, but not for me.

I ordered these 700C rim strips for use with my 27"x1-1/4" legacy bicycle wheels; the two sizes are sufficiently alike that 700C tubes (but not 700C tires) are usable on 27"x1-1/4" wheels. Installation was straightforward: I matched the wheel and rim strip valve holes and placed a round shaft through the holes to maintain rim strip position. Using both hands I worked the rim strip into the wheel rim, stretching the rim strip to completely circle the wheel. Then I worked the round shaft under the rim strip and worked around the wheel, centering the rim strip inside the wheel rim.The package contains four 18 mm. wide rim strips, enough for two bicycles. The PVC rim strips are thinner but tougher than latex rim strips, the tough PVC will prevent wheel spoke tube punctures, and inert PVC has a longer service life than latex. The PVC is double-layered in a hot stamp join at the valve hole for extra strength. As a bonus the package also includes two plastic tire irons for removing bicycle tires from bicycle wheels.

I just changed my tires on my new-to-me roadbike for the first time, and this rim "tape" went on super easily! I had in my mind that rim "tape" would have an adhesive, but it doesn't. This comes as one continuous loop with a hole pre-cut into it. It fit flawlessly into my Mavic Ksyrium wheels. It took a bit of a stretch as I got to the last bit of rim, but I got it over, and the rim tape returned to form without showing any signs of being stretched. It fits perfectly where it needs to be.Rim tape is recommended for anytime you're using a lighter inner tube (I know, I'm not tubeless like the cool kids), and I'm trying this alongside some extremely light 19g TPU inner tubes, under Continental GP5000 tires. Continental actually recommends not using any inner tubes below 70 g especially for race conditions! I'm not exactly racer-fast, but I am heavy enough to be considered a Clydesdale in the road bike world, so I am curious to see how my setup holds up. I will update if this rim tape plays a role in any of that!Almost forgot to add, I used one of the included tire levers to install the tire. Not that I don't have a ton of those lying around, but it was effective and appreciated.
