All four thermometers were within a degree of each other when I placed the sensors in the same water glass.

Works right out of the packaging. I usually like to wait a month or two before leaving a review to ensure it all functions properly.Very low power draw which equals long lasting battery life

Arrived with batteries already installed with no insulator under batteries to prevent batteries from going dead. All 4 arrived with dead batteries. What a waste of time....

I thought I would take a chance, even though some other reviewers stated the batteries were dead on arrival. I guess for the price, these aren't bad thermometers but the description should state that batteries are required (total of 8 LR44 to power all four thermometers) and are not included. It is of little use to provide batteries that are going to be DOA. All that said, these are not bad little thermometers and the two that I managed to get working with some new batteries I had on hand seem to be reasonably accurate. They are reading within a degree of one another and within a degree of my Ambient weather station indoor thermometer. They are probably a good deal, even though you need to provide new batteries in order to use them. A 12 pack of Amazon Basics LR44 batteries is only about $10.00. Just be sure to order the batteries when you order the thermometers.

When they arrived they were already activated on battery power. Since they are made in china I can only assume they’ve been powered since manufacture. Batteries were dead in two units so I don’t expect the others to last long.
