These are absolutely gorgeous paper lanterns that are the perfect addition to a holiday display, but could easily be used year-round.The lanterns are easy to assemble, but do not come with lights. I recommend buying the small battery-powered LED wire lights. Those are lightweight and fit easily inside the points of the star. Many of them come with a remote or have a timer, so they're also a practical solution for illuminating these lanterns, especially if you plan to hang them up.I'm planning to use these as part of a larger Christmas display I'm putting up in the bay window of my kitchen. I like that this will let me enjoy it both inside and out and the soft lighting will work in lieu of leaving on a kitchen nightlight. I will likely leave the star lanterns up all winter, since they are lovely and create a wonderfully cheery atmosphere which I really need in the winter months to keep my mood up.Beyond the holidays, these would also work well as decor virtually anywhere. They can be hung up or set on a table top and leaned against something to display and can be used with or without lights inside depending on the look you're going for. Of course, they are really lovely with a light inside and the soft lighting creates a pleasing ambience in any space. There is a cute little Christmas card included in the box, so if you wanted to give these as a gift over the holidays, you'll be all set!
