I like that these latches are made of metal throughout; material looks like stainless steel. Only time will tell, but to this point I can't see them rusting. The latch fit perfectly for my Suburban water heater cover. Since I had an extra pair I tried them on the bumper cargo cover on my vintage airstream and they fit there too! Since these are made of metal I dont think they are going to be affected by sitting out in the sun like the old plastic ones. Seems like a very well made part.
