And we have a number of different kind of tongue drums and percussion type instruments in my house. I got this set, because sometimes the mallets get lost or broken. These mallets are almost unusable even when brand new.The sticks are a dark wood, but look like they may be died bamboo. None of the sticks are straight they all have a curve.None of the sticks match the proportion shown in the photos. The photo with the bass drum in it is by far the worst and picks the mallets to be three or more times their actual size.I simply cannot recommend these for even the lightest musical use.

Would have been better to have a slightly more sturdy handle, but fits the hands of my little granddaughters just fine.

I was disappointed because I thought it was a good deal. I guess it does say “6 inch” my bad. The large one is what I was wanting to replace. I will be returning for larger size.
