The bars fully extended are a lot smaller than expected & nowhere near being sturdy. Will be returning.

This is a decent pack of 4 window security bars, however are cheaply made. The rubber ends popped right off when just trying them out for size, which they aren't supposed to do. For daily use around the house just to keep a window open or closed, it's okay. For security purposes which was the main goal, I wouldn't use long term. If they fall apart coming out of the box, I wouldn't recommend them to keep you safe at night.

Although it does not come with instructions, it is pretty easy to figure out. Just turn the larger rod clockwise until you reach the desired length, and the push in slightly to lock it.I recommend not using this on an opening of more than 19". When you adjust the length, make it almost a 1/4" longer than what you need, because you are going to push it in a bit to get it to fit snugly in the window.Although my photo shows the bar clearly visible, it would be better alongside the window jamb, where it cannot easily be seen. The rubber ends should also help this bar grip. (See photos.)It's maybe not the thickest or sturdiest bar, but it will be enough to deter someone who thinks it's going to be easy to open a window. I highly recommend this, because it is inexpensive and easy to install for a little extra protection.

1 out of 4 does not work and broken and the others hardly extend and a big push of the window breaks them - so avoid these like the plague .
