Using a measuring tape or a ruler, measure the width of the flange of your grill of your vent.
If the size is between 3.5" to 4", a 4"x10" device is needed. If it is between 2.5" to 3, a 3"X10" devices will fit into the opening.
You simply have to drop the device in the floor vent & plug it in.
Connect to WiFi (optional) in order to benefit from all the features using the app.

Actually great! Fan speed is customizable so you can turn it or down to adjust speed and sound. Actually makes a great difference!

I was able to install and set up with my Nest in less than 10 minutes. Great product thus far. I’ve noticed the fan will auto turn on and off when the AC or heat comes on, but not for the circulation fan only. It’s helped add the necessary air to the part of my house lacking. Thank you!

I read the bad reviews, but decided to risk it anyways in hopes I could get it to work properly with my Ecobee thermostat. I don't know who designed this thing, but all they had to do was monitor the fan status from Ecobee and mirror it. The wifi is connected and I can both see and communicate with this from their app without any issues. Sometimes, this device shows the solid red LED ("Error" according to the documentation), which is when it turns on.Personally, I was considering hacking the ESP32 that controls this and writing my own firmware, but the actual fans are just way too loud for the amount of boost they provide. The default fan power setting is 33%, which is pretty loud already and I can barely feel the airflow. 100% setting sounds like a vacuum cleaner and is just unacceptable. I'm not sure where they got these fans, but they are way too loud - I have plenty of PC fans that generate way more airflow at maybe 25% of the noise level these fans do.Will be returning this as I feel there are just no redeeming qualities for this product. Very disappointed as I wish there was a better product that integrated with the Ecobee thermostat.

Love it. Integrates beautifully with my Nest thermostat. Cocoon fan turns on and off with my heater/AC blower fan. I found the fan and app easy to set up and the app very functional.The app allows me to set the fan to be off all the time, on all the time, automatic (set to its internal thermostat), or synchronized with my Nest thermostat - which is my preference.I can schedule multiple events per day, which comes in handy because the fan can be loud on the higher speed settings, 5 and above..All these register fans trade off fan speed (air flow) versus fan noise. The variable schedule function accommodates that trade off for me.My bedroom is the furthest run from the HVAC so I needed to increase the airflow. I’m only in the bedroom at night and want to minimize fan noise so as not to interfere with my sleep.During the day, when I’m not there, I schedule the fan to be off. The schedule sets the fan to 7 between 7 PM and 10 PM to help cool/warm bedroom just before bedtime, then sets fan speed to 2 from 10 PM to 8 AM. For me, I wouldn’t be able to sleep at 3 and above. Airflow is adequate at 2, but I would prefer it be a bit quieter so I could have more air flow. Like I said, it’s a trade-off.The mounting to me is a bit wonky, but I got it to work in my register.One mild annoyance is the LED lights. There’s three of them, and while they are not super bright. I’m not sure they’re even needed.Although it is not cheap, this is only one that does what I need and I haven’t seen any that have the ability to turn on and off with the main HVAC blower fan.

If you get the right size it will fit right into your vent. It is clearly designed for floor vents since it is built to hang in the gap with the mounting legs. Getting it installed takes all of 5 minutes, but you need to make sure there is a power source nearby. It doesn't seem to make a lot of noise in most cases, but because the app is awful, just awful it is difficult to test a lot of it's functionalilty. The app is supposed to connect to your smart thermostat and determine when to run and the power to run on so that it keeps you cool or warm, but since it crashes when configured with an ecobee thermostat (the API probably changed since the app was built) at best you can just run it continuously. Given the price and it not actually working on sync with the thermostat, it's not the best value for money. It just becomes a fan in the vent that may or may not keep you cool. The maker of this device needs to update their app or make a physical remote for it or something, but as it is - it is hard to recommend. It will "work" but only because it just ends up running constantly.

fan could be a bit noisy at full speed. got my room 2 or 3 degrees warmer and integration with ecobee just works.

I bought a SmartCoccoon vent fan from a big box store a few years ago when we moved into our house. I can't remember why, but I hated it, decided it was useless, but it was outside the return window, so it sat in the basement for 3 years. But my husband's office was getting so hot from his many computers running, I had to try something. I busted it out again and I'm can't believe I had this magic temperature weapon sitting in my house for so long, completely unused. Not only is my husband's office cooler by several degrees, but the whole second floor is cooler. You can feel it when you walk up the stairs. Note: I also paired this product with a register air director specifically shaped for cold air, which I also purchased from Amazon. I think it also greatly helps the efficacy of the fan.I'm not sure if they improved the app since I first tried it, but wow. You can control everything, the fan speed, schedule fan on/off and speed times, it's awesome. You can even set up two fans in the same room so they have the same settings. So smart!!With this purchase, I now have two fans running in the app. Setup took less than 2 minutes. This one is in our super hot, south facing bedroom that receives sun blaring in for the whole day. Laying on my bed, I can already feel cool air circulating over me. I'd give this thing 10 stars if I could. Because nothing has fixed this problem, including dropping $15k for a new air conditioner and furnace.I also love that this is a Canadian-made product that tackles the problems we all now have maintaing a comfortable temperature in our homes as we deal with constantly unpredictable weather.

This was the ONLY vent booster fan that fit my ductwork - so great idea and fitment. The challenge is that airflow was not sufficient as compared to the vent under normal operation. In fact, it appears that it reduced the amount of airflow in comparison. I even tried running this this at 100% for 2 days (hoping it would make a difference, but it was very loud and didn't not change the comfort of the room in question. I really wanted this to work for me, but sadly it was simply too loud and didn't provide enough airflow.

This Booster works good but my issue is I have two registers far from the furnace and the way this booster works is it has an internal thermostat that has to heat up before it runs so what happens is by the time its heated and starting to blow the furnace is getting ready to shut down so it just blows the last few minutes of heat until the internal thermostat cools down and shuts off so it seems to blow more cool air than hot

Was concerned because some people said it was loud. I find it whisper quiet, no louder than if the furnace was on. I could not connect it directly to my thermostat, but that is because my thermostat won't let me connect with it anyway. It let me connect without linking to the thermostat. It is having trouble judging the actual temperature of the room (ranging from 13C to 27C, when actual is 17 - 18 - that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5), but I find just running the fan occasionally helps the temp. It's very much worth it for me. And unlike the usual plug-in boosters, it let's you keep your own register cover.

My daughter's room is HOT in the summer and FREEZING in here winter. I bought a fan about 18 months ago (and another one for a different room last week) and it works great. Hasn't completely fixed the issue but her room is much closer to normal temps with this fan installed, and most importantly, she sleeps through the night now.Yes the fans can be loud at higher speeds, but unless you're a family who needs library quiet to sleep, I don't think it will be an issue. It hasn't been for my daughter.My only complaint is the app, which seems much more clumsy than it should be. But it gets the job done!

I spent two hours, troubleshooting this thing. I am using UNIFI networking, with dedicated 2.4GHz AP WIFI units.Couldn't get it to work, I had to turn it off, turn it back on, connect, reconnect. Connect so many times.At one point, I was reading a book, connecting it. Then suddenly it worked.When it works, it works!But dawg, if you gave me a dumb remote that turns it on and cycles through fan speeds, I would love that much much more, rather than to go through the WIFI setup doofus.And this thing HAS to be controlled via WIFI app, there ARE NO PHYSICAL BUTTONS TO OVERRIDE WIFI AND FORCE THIS TO TURN ON. NO WIFI, NO WORKING FAN.Why did I have to buy this fan? Well... Not really, the competition had a fan whine I couldn't sleep with. And aesthetic-wise this is the only product that "hides" the fan underneath your existing register. My room has one of those fancy recessed wooden registers so the typical register fan booster replaces the entire unit which doesn't look aesthetically as pleasing (since the other registers are at odds).Do I recommend this product? No, no no no no. Not unless they do away the WIFI crap and just give you a dumb remote to control this the old fashioned way. Or you know, buttons on the product itself also works.In terms of air pressure, it is good, it works good. My room is cold again. Compared against other competition register fan booster, it works as good as the others. In terms of air circulation and air boosting. My room has only one register, so I have to keep this fan at 80% minimum for sufficient performance.Aesthetics: A+ (you use your existing register on top of this)Setup: E (it's easy to install the fan, but the WIFI setup is nightmare fuel)Performance: A (Works perfectly, not much to say)Noise: B (it is noisy at high fan speeds, but the whine is a pitch lower, low enough I can sleep through it)

Works like a charm, but the Eco Mode sometimes misses when the AC turns on. Not sure why, haven't found much on how this is supposed to be determined.
