One other thing I wanted to clarify before starting this review is that the product picture shown to me in my order screen, review screen AND the advert screen is the one I have attached in my pictures, and that is the one with the rectangular black box with CarPlay Box written on the top of it. The actual device itself is the one shown in the remainder of my pictures that I have attached, and nothing to do with CarPlay whatsoever.The first thing to be aware about this charger before purchasing is that this is a total power output of 36W - and NOT 36W per port. Say if you had in mind that you were going to charge a device that could accept a 30W fast charge for charging it as quick as possible, then this is NOT for you. What this does allow is for you to fast charge two devices simultaneously at a maximum of 18W per port, therefore giving you a total of 36W. With that said, this dual port setup does give you so many options that it should suit most peoples needs.The body of the charger has a nice grey finish and is very sturdy as it is made from metal. This is complimented by the nice black face that it has and the small LCD screen placed in between the two USB Type A charging ports. The LCD displays what wattage the vehicles battery is giving you and NOT the wattage at what the devices will be charged at so please be aware of that as well.In summary this is good looking charger with great build quality that allows you to charge two devices at the same time, offering you up to a maximum of 18W per port. Equally importantly it fits nice and snugly into the car charger port, without any fear of it being knocked out.

With the multitude of devices, I now need to charge everywhere, a couple of USB sockets in the car are essential. But a couple of problems I have are firstly me sat nav has a HUGE charger attached to it which sticks out in front of the gear knob. And when I’m using that, I can’t plug in my phone to charge. So, I wanted a solution. Previously, I tried a couple of cheap plastic double sockets, most don’t last long (if they work at all) And they keep falling out. But this one is very different…Firstly, and surprisingly…it's solid metal and very well built, the spring is very strong and when inserted it stays put, even over speed bumps. It’s also quite shallow, it doesn’t protrude much at all, so again a great advantage if your socket is next to the gear knob.So, this device is a real must-have accessory. It converts the “cig lighter” power socket into two standard USB sockets. I simply use a USB cable to power me sat nav and a USB to lightening cable, to charge my iPhone whilst on the go. (or my passenger can charge there’s with an appropriate USB cable).If your car is wired properly, you should never need to unplug it, but in one of my cars, the lighter socket is always live, even if the car ignition is off. In the past, this has led to a flat battery with the sat nav being left on for a week, whilst the car was parked. So, a feature I love about this is the blue LED ring around it, reminding me it on (and in my case -to unplug it when not in use.)I’m so pleased to have found this product. I’ve been so disappointed with the others I’ve tried, but this is far superior to the cheap plastic ones I’ve had in the past. It addresses all my charging problems. Solid, strong, well made, illuminated and low profile. And complete with a USB cable (which you may or may not use). If you need a USB socket in your car then this is the product you want. Don’t be put off by the low price, this is worth every penny. Brilliant!

The unit plugs into the car's cigar/cigarette lighter socket, and charges well through either USB A output. The power for each socket is listed as 2.5 volts at 3 amps, 9 volts at 2 amps, or 12 volts at 1.5 amps (see photo). I have used it to charge only my phone, which works fine. The digital display on the unit shows the input voltage (see photos), but the figures displayed are upside down compared to the text on the body of the front of the unit (QC3.0 top and bottom), which suggests a lack of attention to detail and therefore possibly durability. Other than that, this is a good functional unit. 4 stars.
