This artist sleeve works size wise, but is very thin and not even remotely like the old ones. I don’t expect it will Hold up too much abuse, and I don’t expect it to last long. I would call it very light duty.

I ordered these for several purposes. I wanted a way to store some of my oversized papers safely at home. I wanted my kids to have their own, separate, portfolios for storing flat artwork of all sizes at home. I wanted my oldest, who may be taking art in person next school year, to have something he could use for easily carrying large artwork between home and school. These art portfolios are reasonably sturdy for being made of paper. It’s a stiffness similar to that of a paper folder. They’ll do fine holding most things. The straps are nice and the perfect length to go over my shoulder as an adult. The flaps to cover the tops are… folded the wrong way to cover anything. You have to reverse fold along the seam to get them in the right direction, they don’t want to fold downwards, and there’s nothing to keep them in place once you do so, so you’re either holding it shut or dealing with a constantly shifting cover for the art. Now, in my case, I’ll probably dig up some hook-loop patches and stick them on to give the flap a way to close, but that’s annoying and extra time/money put into making these reasonably functional. So, they’re definitely not great. They’re not terribly either, however. I just wish they put more thought into the flap closure.
