I used these to add grommets to some curtains I made. They were easy to work with and the brushed nickel tone looks great.

It seems like it would be an easy matter for the seller to include a basic template. A couple of the rings had scratches on them but mostly were fine. They do basically look like plastic but they get the job done and the price is right, especially if you have a lot of grommets to do. I put them in existing curtains and just traced the inner diameter of a ring as my template. Worked fine!

Use them to turn a shower curtain into a living room curtain. I still have plenty for another project

These are easy to install on the fabric. I used a light weight cotton, and I had no problems using them on it. Measure where you want to put them, use a disk to measure the hole, clip it out (it doesn't need to be perfect) and snap them in place. (I used a piece of newspaper to make a simple pattern) If an imperfect hole is a little tight, just make some very short, shallow clips (2 or 3) around the cut edges of the fabric.
