I have used these with good success to mount heavy gate hinges on concrete block and handrails on brick. They hold better and stand up to stress better than most other styles of anchors or tapcon-style bolts.Because you set these with a hammer and the included punch tool, it requires a major impact that can fracture certain materials. Solid poured concrete can take the hit, no problem. In cinder block and brick, I have learned the hard way to follow these rules: Don't install them in the mortar joint. Don't install them near the hollow area of cement block - only put them in the center and ends where you know there will be solid concrete behind the end of the anchor. Only install them in the exact center of a brick -- too close to the edge and they will fracture. Give it one good solid whack to set it and avoid hitting it multiple times. Drill your hole to the exact length and diameter of the anchor -- no more and no less. Blow out or vacuum the hole to clear all dust and debris before installing.I've also noticed that sometimes the anchor will lose its little center setting pin while bumping against all the other anchors in your bag or box. So always verify that the pin is still in the anchor before installing. Trying to set it without the pin inside will surely result in disappointment. If the pin falls out, just reinsert the pin with the pointy end in.

I picked up these drop-in anchors for a recent job installing bollards along a walkway. The customer wanted the anchor bolts to stay below the bollard's baseplate, so these were the right choice.I often use wedge, Tapcon, or drop-in anchors, depending on the project. I prefer drop-ins because they stay put even after removing and reinstalling the secured object, and you can cover or fill them when they're no longer needed. So, I was pleased with the large quantity in this package, especially at around 25¢ an anchor.Installing the bollards was easy, and the included setting tool was a nice touch that worked well. This product helped me complete the job, and I even have some anchors left over for future use. These anchors worked great. However, I should note that the seller advertises them for concrete, brick, and stone, which is incorrect. Drop-in anchors should only be used in solid concrete.

I tested the threads on these to confirm they are 3/8 -16 and they are. The same is stamped on the side but I never trust that as some sellers will ship metric ones. This is a good value for a 30 pack, much better price than I can get buying locally especially considering the setting tool is included. The quality is the same as I am used to, they are thick and well made. I wouldn’t consider them rust proof but rather rust resistant. I would order this brand again.

These are as described and having the included driver is a nice plus. These are on par with others in this price range. The thread is a snug running fit and gives you almost 2x the bolt diameter of depth for a generous secure fit. These are not an economy version, the wall thickness is just as it should be and they did not skimp on material. Even the plugs are electroplated so being used out door should be a no brainier. It is a good buy at a fair price. 5 stars
