The good news is that the product is exactly as advertised. There are 500 bio balls. The balls do contain filament for increased surface area. And, there are five mesh bags.The problem is that the bags hold a maximum of 80 balls each, for a total of 400. That leaves 100 loose balls rolling around on the floor. Just like in the product picture.If you have a filter to use the 500 balls without the bags, this is a good deal. If you were counting on using all 500 balls in the provided bags, you will be disappointed.

I guess they are bio balls, I've never seen any before. You have to fill the bag yourself and not all balls fit in the 5 bags. Charge $2 more and send 7 bags.
