I have been running these style of collets for several years and never had one slip. This was my first metric collet. Finish seemed nicer than most. I chose this one because it actually stated run out specs. However this collet for whatever reason has slipped several times. On 2 different machines. Probably wouldn't purchase again.

The ER20 collets are tapered and designed to fit into a matching, tapered opening in a tool.I recently bought a router motor for my router table with this type of fitting. This is far superior to the typical arrangement. The router motor came with 1/2" and 1/4" collets, but I have some router bits with 8mm shanks. I got this collet so that I can use those bits without an adapter.
