There are two versions of filters with the same model number, one is longer than the other but both will work in the modern Elkay drinking fountain stations - this one is the longer version. But in order for this filter to work, you MUST remove the RFID from the old filter and put it on this filter since this filter doesn't come with one. You must peel the label on the old filter and take a razer blade to round patch under the label on the surface of the filter. The adhesive holding the RFID is only around the outside of the patch. You should be able to feel the RFID under the label. When putting the RFID onto the new filter, place it in the same location as it was on the previous filter. It should go on the opposite side of the label on the new filter because it must be located towards the back of the fountain once tightened. Make it so you can easily remove the RFID again to use it on the next filter you buy. Once the RFID is placed on the new filter, it reattached easily and once you run about a gallon of water through it, it works perfect. This is much cheaper than the name brand filter but has the same total gallons and flow rate as the original.

If you have an Elkay water bottle filler attached to your drinking fountain, this is the filter you need to keep your bottle filler running briskly. It replaces the Elkay 51300C. They do fit in an Elkay water station but they are not recognized by the system , not allowing the system to reset, making the red light to keep flashing.
