This shovel looked like a good alternative to the ergonomic shovels that have the bent handle, because a lot of people are reporting that the handle is breaking at the bend. I liked that it has a straight and sturdy looking handle plus with the second handle that is supposed to help with heavier shovel loads. I bought it for my son in the Atlanta GA area as he has back issues from time to time, and the extended forecast was calling for snow, and nobody had snow shovels down there, I know as I lived there once.The shovel was slated to take a little longer getting to them than the usual Amazon item as it came directly from a seller via USPS, but it got there just in the nick of time! (It was only coming from one of the Carolinas too! That's right next door to GA!). However if you have problems with your back and don’t want to buy an ergonomic shovel that might break at the bend, I think this one is worth the longer wait because I don’t see anyone selling anything like it.My son said it was great and that he was the only one in the neighborhood out shoveling last week! They had snow again this week (maybe I jinxed them by getting that shovel?) and he was glad to have it. They didn’t get enough snow for him to test out the usefulness of the second shorter handle for lifting heavier shovel loads but I was also thinking his five year old son might be able to get on the other side of the shovel and help using the shorter handle. I forgot to suggest that though. If it is in the way I am guessing that the second handle is something you can put on only when you need it.I might get us one of these as we live in Pennsylvania and have lots of sidewalk!! Happy shoveling!
