Your cart is empty.Universal Professional Tulip Lens Hood is primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light (flare) from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. Screw-mount lens hoods, such as this 55mm, are designed to screw right into your lens or filter. Rear locking ring allows the user to rotate the hood in 360°direction.

With nothing to compare it to it is fine. I hoped for a rubberized light hood and this is hard plastic.

It definitely came in handy when I needed something last minute. It came nicely packaged, and fit easily onto my camera. It is not the best quality, but definitely got the job done.

If you install a UV filter on the lens, adding the lens hood interferes with the image, by blocking some of the light.

Wish I had seen the previous review that mentioned that this screwed on, rather than snapped into place like most normal lens hoods. If you're okay screwing the lens hood on and off every time you need to change, then you might like this. If you're looking for a normal hood that snaps on, and can be reversed for 'stowing,' save your money (to clarify, this one cannot be reversed for stowage).
