It smells like cheaper rubber badly.. it's also so soft and tacky feeling, as in sticky. I told Amazon I am returning it and they said "no need" and they will refund me.

It's easy to have this hood fully collapsed or fully extended but the arguably most useful position (partially extended) is almost impossible to get it to stay in. The material wants to fully extend, which shows in the images depending on your focal length. I don't find myself using this hood all that often for that reason. I wish it were better though, because it is nice to have a collapsible cheap option.

It fits good. One thing I had to mention was that on wide angle it showed the lens hood at the corners just like some one mentioned in review. However wide angle of mine is wide18mm and it is understood that it could not be used for it. I collapsed one notch and it was fine. Fully extended and good for other angles.

This Rubber Lens Hood is much better than the metal hoods that I've used. The fact that it is collapsible makes it fit in my camera bag without having to remove it. Canon Lens Cap fits perfectly in place as well.
