I knew 5 pounds was a lot of millet, but I couldn't really visualize just how much it would be until I received it. Wow. I only have two cockatiels...this is going to last them years, since it is only an occasional treat for them. I am planning on vacuum sealing most of it for later. The millet sprays themselves are the largest I have ever seen, much bigger than come in those small packages you get at the pet store. The sprays are so large that both my birds were actually scared of it at first and refused to approach it (they're not very bright). But once they figured it out, they were happily munching away.

Five pounds gets you a ton of millet and this is an outstanding value. We go through a lot for our many birds and rodents, and this is the most economical way to buy it. The millet is in a clear bag, there's no labeling or anything, which is the only thing that bugged me a bit as I'd like to see where it was grown, etc. Though that info is in the product listing. The quality of the millet is great too, the sprays are large and dense, with plenty of other sizes for variety. The birds love it, it fulfills their foraging instinct. Being such a large amount, it smells good, not stale or old. If keeping it in the bag it comes in, you'll want to seal it with something to keep freshness in. I've started sharing a few sprays with the mourning doves that come and they love it too!

Millet is very fresh, with the sprays holding lots of seeds. Very few seeds are loose resulting in less than mess than I've been accustomed to with millet sprays. It is a very large amount of sprays, the stalks are strong and extra long making them ideal for hanging. They arrived in a plastic bag sealed within a box, they were in good shape, undamaged upon unpacking.I recently added millet sprays to the seeds and suet I provide to the wild songbirds, they seem very happy for the treat.

I got these as a treat for my quail and wow it's a big box! They love millet sprays so this was perfect. I did dock one star because by the time I got to the middle of the box, the sprays were looking pretty ragged. Like a bunch had half the millet knocked off. Which is fine since I'll collect all the millet at the bottom of the box when it's done, but I think maybe having a little cushioning inside the box might prevent damage to the sprays during transit.The top half of the box was basically 100% perfect sprays that were huge, deluxe grade.

I'll let our African Grey, Harry, write the review on this one:"Hi, I'm Harry. I'm an African Grey parrot! I LOVE millet... just love it. When the 'guy who feeds me' came in with the big box, I got, oh, so excited... I like boxes... I like what's in them and I like to rip them to shreds later. He opened the box and OH MY WORD - it was full of the nicest millet I've seen in a while. Big long stems of millet! My favorite! Now I'm going to scream super loudly a bunch till he gives me one!"Thanks Harry!What you get: This is a 5 pound box of millet sprays.
