These FETs failed immediately under normal operating conditions. Fake product.

I have yet to find IRFB4227PBF that aren't counterfeit. This, and all other Chinese knockoffs, had a chip 1/4 the size of the original and blew up right away. Original IRFB4227PBF has a chip that's nearly the width of the heatsink tab.

I'm using these MOSFETS as backups in a battery spot welder that I designed to discharge a 1 Farad capacitor. I use 10 of them in parallel. They have a very low on resistance 24 milli ohms which is necessary to dump large welding currents. I haven't had to replace any yet.

These are not the same as true IR manufactured MOSFET they have a higher on resistance than the ones made by Infineon that was International Rectifier. The part number my be the same but they do not work the same. I used them as replacements in a mono-block car amp and all they did was get very hot this is a class D amp. I then ordered the real parts from Mouser they worked just fine with no over heating. They should work as just power switches jut not in a class D amp.
