When purchasing automotive relays for damp or wet locations it is smart to purchase everything together like this. So many times, I have ordered the relay and the socket separately only to find out that they don't exactly fit together. Yes, the socket will align properly but the ridge around the relay is what usually doesn't fit and that is where water creeps in. When you buy everything together like the Losato 5-Piece that is when you get the best fit which is truly waterproof. The leads are rather short, but regardless of length you are probably going to require more wire anyway. Just be sure to use glue impregnated shrink tubing butt splices to maintain the waterproofing. The wire going to the contact is 12 AWG which is 40 Amps, and the limit of most OEM fuses not associated with the starter circuit.

So, I’ve taken my dad-tinkering skills to a new level, turning my kids' Power Wheels four-wheeler into a mini-monster truck. How? I'm not pushing these to their advertised limit, but am using them fully to provide over 250W to aux power ports on some equipment. The wiring harness is heavier than typical automotive relays and provides the switching and delivers the power without issue. Like others have mentioned in reviews, it remains to be seen if the relays can provide reliable service over thousands of cycles. There is no documentation of performance for the number of cycles rating (MTBF), so it can only be hoped that they don't "prematurely" fail. For now, these are performing in a heavy duty application.

These relays are well made and easy to use. These were used to install a new fuel pump and a new electric fan on my 1983 Olds. Using insulated wire clamps from Amazon this made for a neat installation. Fan turned on and car started flawlessly after installation. Because the relays are waterproof, we should have years of service from them.

I wish I could provide more useful advice but unfortunately this is the type of item that is difficult to rate until it has been tested thoroughly with thousands of cycles and destructive testing.What I can tell you is that the wiring pigtail is heavier than most automotive relays I've worked with.I'll follow-up with this review if I encounter any problems in the future, but for now this is a decent product at a competitive price.

I am not your typical diy person when it comes to fixing cars. But lately I have been getting more hands on with my car. I definitely am beginning to enjoy it. Being that said I cam across these relays for some lighting and am surprised of how well it is working at the moment. This is my first time working with these so I don't know what to expect other than I hope they last a good amount of time. They look like they are well made and the cables are thick and not y our typical 16 gauge wiring. To me they look like they are well made. If I do get a bad one as some have mentioned, I will make the update. Until then, I recommend them.
