If you've come this far in rebuilding your 5R55S/W/N then you might as well go all the way and correct some of the issues these model transmissions have from the factory. The kit itself has very easy to follow instructions, and the whole job took me about 30 minutes. (I'm very cautious, as this was my first time). I will report back after I get the transmission back together and let you know if I notice and difference.

I bought this kit to fix a P0741 code. First, I replaced the torque converter because it was noisy and I believed it was causing the code and the issue, but that did not solve it. That is when I bought this shift kit. The instructions were clear and precise and it was very easy to install the kit. All parts fit appropriately. The lockup valve in my transmission was stuck in place and only moved slightly, which the instructions that come with the shift kit mentioned this to be a common occurrence. After working for 30 minutes, the lockup valve was out and sliding in the new lockup valve, I instantly noticed a firm, but not loose feeling to the valve, I installed the spring and the pin and slid the valve back and forth numerous times, verifying that it would move without any hindrance. I then proceeded to replace the other valves and springs in the valve body, which went very smoothly. I installed the valve body into the transmission, finished up with anew filter and topped off the transmission with Mercon V. When I was test driving it, the first time I placed the transmission into drive, I noticed a difference, prior to the valve body, it would slowly slide into drive, with the shit kit installed, it felt forceful, more like one might expect a transmission without any issues to shift. Road testing it proved that the shift kit was a success, all the gears went in as they should, no more gradually sliding into the gears. The transmissions worked better than it ever had in the 11 years I owned the vehicle. I was very impressed with the kit, the easy to follow instructions and the feel of the transmission after installation. As of the writing of this review, I have drove the vehicle ~2500 miles with no issues whatsoever.

I haven't installed this kit yet, I have installed a Transgo recalibration kit on another car a few yrs ago. After three years, the transmission was still performing fantastic. I would recommend Transgo kits for certain applications

Havent installed it yet.looks relatively easy once you remove the valve body. The only issue I found was that the kit cannot be installed 100% unless you remove the transmission to install the valve that improves the pump flow . That requires the convertor to be removed. I will install all other parts and save that for future install if i ever have the trans removed
