This chess board isn’t a board but a rather thin sheet like tarp. It is massive and is sized as advertised, but without the pieces it’s useless. I’m not sure how this would do without something holding it down or if you have pieces and want to play, I hope a gust of wind won’t blow it away. But, it is a chess board and I imagine it would be fun playing one that large.

Someday I want to own a giant chess set back the biggest one I found on Amazon (about 4 feet tall for the king) is like $1400 currently. In the mean time, I have this huge chessboard, though it's more of a very thin tarp that folds down to about 6" by 10" so it's not the thickest tarp material out there. The material is so thin, the white is slightly transparent - I can see my hand through it when I hold the tarp over my hand - in low light. If you're going to be spending $1400 on a chess set, you'd be better off investing in a better chessboard. This is, however, great for storage and transporting and if you can wrangle up 32 teacup humans (otherwise known as children) it could be a lot of fun and chaos.
