Quiet but not a lot of air. Only one speed. Disappointed

Works great! Puts out a sufficient amount of air for a little personal fan running off a usb connection.I RV alot and appreciate a little fan that does not use up much power. I like to boondock, camp without connections out in the wilderness and this little guy helps keep me comfortable without using too much electricity.

This fan is very basic -- you plug it into anything that provides power via USB-A (a laptop or wall-charger, etc.), turn it on and it starts running. It only has a single speed. It is really pretty quiet though. And for a small fan, it moves a good amount of air (as long as you're close to it; at this size it's good as a desk fan that you're sitting next to, but you won't feel it across the room). It has to remain plugged in -- it's not a rechargeable fan. And it only has a single speed (no fast or slow options -- just the one speed). It's also not as slim or compact as some other modern desk fans I have -- but, on the other hand, it moves more air than some of those slimmer fans, and it has some metal components that make this seem potentially more robust/higher-end than a cheap all-plastic fan that you might find in this price-range (we'll just have to see how long it really lasts). The front grate can be removed for cleaning, but you have to unscrew it (easy enough, but not as easy as the clasp-design that some nas use for easier removal).

SUMMARY3.5-stars--Quiet; meets description in adBACKGROUNDThis came up as a Vine suggestion. I had a need for a low wattage USB load device for some of the testing that I do on some of the Vine reviews plus I wanted it to help distribute the heat from my oil-filled electric radiator heater that I keep by my desk during the colder days of the year.INITIAL OBSERVATIONSIt's a fairly inexpensive fan, so you should not be expecting very robust construction. A good portion of it is metal though. The box that it came in looked like it had been abused quite a bit in shipping and there was only a thin bag of bubble wrap protecting the unit. I was quite surprised to find no damage to the unit though. Maybe because it is made from metal? Or maybe I was just lucky.COMPLAINTS / ISSUESIt would have been nice if it had come with a USB-C adapter and had supported multiple speeds.IMPRESSIONSIt is pretty quiet and if you keep it 3-4 ft away from you, you might not even hear it. I do not have the equipment to measure the claimed RPMs though.CONCLUSIONThe product seems acceptable and it appears to meet all the specs in the ad. As such, it probably rates "average" (i.e. 3.0-stars). Since it survived what was apparently a fairly rough journey to my house and didn't get damaged, I'm ging to bump it up to "slightly above average" (i.e. 3.5-stars).ORIGINAL AD DESCRIPTION6 Inch Small USB Desk Fan, 36 dB Quiet Desktop Fans for Home Office Bedroom, Metal Construction with 360° Adjust Tilt, 2000 RPM High Velocity$15.99STAR RATING SCALE5.0 Excellent product (or perhaps customer service); There is NO room for improvement whatsoever; NOTHING is perfect, so this rating *should* be EXTREMELY difficult to achieve.4.5 Very above average4.0 Above average product; Something about it sets it a bit above similar products on the market.3.5 Slightly above average3.0 Average product; Meets expectations, perfectly serviceable, but does not do anything that sets it apart from similar products; Does not have some features that makes me say, "Wow, that's a neat feature".2.5 Slightly below average2.0 Below average product; Something about it is a bit lacking; It could be conflicted specifications or errors in the original listing or that it was arrived with damage that was unlikely to have occurred during shipping and should have been caught in either the manufacturer's or seller's quality control.1.5 Very below average / slightly poor1.0 Poor product; Waste of money at ANY price; Blatant lies in the original listing.0.0 Extremely poor product; doesn't work and seller either ignores contact attempts or takes an extremely long time to respond, possibly trying to run out the window for returning a product; possible scam seller; a seller or product has to screw up *really* bad to get this score:ORDERED:2025-02-23:RECEIVED:2025-02-26:REVIEWED:2025-02-26:ASIN:B0DQTPY23XLast Modified: 2025-02-26 15:07:00

This is a reasonably well-built small fan, suitable for a desk or on a shelf in front of a window. The frame is metal wire and should last well enough. It's powered via a standard USB-A connection, if you have one handy, but you can always use a charging block from an old phone. It does have two minor weaknesses. First, there's a simple power switch only - no multispeed control like most fans have, it's either on or off, nothing in the middle. That's mostly OK, because even when on, it blows adequately but not extremely.Where a lower setting would be nice, though, is because it has a quiet but annoying whine when it's running, that I think a lower speed setting would resolve. You wouldn't really want it sitting on your actual working desk, as it would be too close to your ear, phone, and Zoom mic. It's very inexpensive though, and good quality value for the price, so it's still worth considering.

My office area was always stuffy. I got this desktop fan to help circulate the air. It works like a charm! The good thing is you can power it from a USB port, and it doesn't take up as much space as a regular fan.

I'm the type of guy who needs a fan on me at all times. I live in Florida lol. this fan is absolutely perfect for me. Just the right amount of power at about 2 - 3 feet away, runs quiet, small enough to fit right under my monitor on my desk and you can really feel the difference. price is not bad at all.

I ordered this small six-inch USB Desktop Fan to cool myself off while sitting at my computer. It plugs into any standard USB strip or outlet and works precisely as you would expect it to. It is a simple, whisper-quiet 1800 RPM fan that gives a medium but adequate airflow without being overwhelming. It has an on-off rocker switch and is medium speed. The fan cage is metal, and the base has nice rubber feet. It is made well and should last a long time. It offers excellent cooling quickly. It's a good value.
