- Before anything you need to locate the studs in the wall adjacent to the rail. The brackets will not hold the pressure and could fall if they are not fixed to studs.
- For the handrail to be parallel to the stairs, measure on the adjacent wall, following the studs, identical vertical distances from each bracket position to the corresponding tread right below.
- Place the brackets on the wall at the distances set before and mark the three holes BEFORE drilling. Recheck distances and looks. After that you can drill reaching the wood studs behind the wall and finish the installation of the brackets to the wall.
- Once the brackets are fixed to the wall, you will be able to screw the handrail easily, just check you have the right tools to work with.
