I've been using these bulbs for years. The particular strain of plant I grow prefers flowering under 50% halide 50% sodium. I use cool tubes, so heat is not an issue for me. I find the halide, sodium combination is much better than l e d and much cheaper.

I just installed an hps ballast with this hybrid hps/mh bulb. Prior to this I was running full spectrum led lights in a 4x4 grow tent in which temperature was easily maintained. After just 30min of run time with this new bulb the temperature went up more than 10° on the middle 400w setting. It has dropped a few degrees after switching to 200w but my needs were for the full 600w output, but with that the temperature in my tent would be in the mid 90's all day. I will install a small cooling humidifier in the tent to see if the temperature can be managed that way but if not, the temperature is just simply too high and won't be enough wattage for my plants to thrive.I will update progress in the future.
