When you live in the middle of nowhere and sometimes people lose their livestock just like people lose their dogs, sometimes this thing comes in handy. It also comes in handy when you don't have a local animal control and there is a loose dog.Works well as long as you're careful. Best to look up a tutorial on how to use this without actually hurting an animal, but great to have once you know how to safely use it.

This pole is hard to use because it does not snap in place when you catch a dog. It slips and pinches fingers. We will not purchase another.

Used for police work/dog catching… it doesn’t lock in place, which I find to be a very odd design choice. The length and construction is very good for us but not locking in place makes it a real challenge to maintain control safely.

I have a dog who gets out a lot and she won’t let me catch her, so I thought this product would solve my problem . Wrong. The pole is too short to get close enough to put the loop around her neck. It needs to be much longer. If you use it to catch wounded animals and they don’t run, then it will do its job. It depends on what you need it for
