I really like this style rivet the Tri-Fold design offers a much larger area to hold material together. Standard rivets only bubble out a little bit to hold and sometimes it works and other times it fails after a short time. I've used washers with standard rivets under the bubble and it holds much better but it's a pain and only works if you have access to the back side of the work piece plus you need to buy washers too. These Tri-Fold rivets will not pull out and if they do fail it's because a rivet is just the wrong fastener for the application.

These are 3/16" tri-fold rivets. Rubber o-rings are included for use it wet environments. They work exactly as described, and I am very pleased with their strength and stability attaching accessories to my kayaks.
