For carburetor or throttle body gasoline injection engines, the intake manifold refers to the intake pipe from the carburetor or throttle body to the cylinder head intake port. Its role is to distribute the air mixture from the carburetor or throttle body to the air intake of each cylinder. For an intake fuel injection engine or diesel engine, the intake manifold distributes clean air only to the intake of each cylinder. The intake manifold must do its best to evenly distribute air, fuel mixture, or clean air to each cylinder. In view of this, the length of the gas channels in the intake manifold should be as equal as possible. In order to reduce airflow resistance and improve intake capacity, the inner wall of the intake manifold should be smooth.
The function of the intake manifold is to distribute the combustible mixture provided by the carburetor to each cylinder. The role of the exhaust manifold is to collect the exhaust gas from each cylinder and send it to the exhaust pipe and muffler, and then discharge it into the atmosphere.

THE READOUT ON SITE SAYS ON BOTTOM READOUT IT WILL WORK WITH A FORD F 250 SUPERDUTY WITH 5.4 MOTOR ....THAT IS WRONG DONT BUY THIS PROBLEM..TRYED TO CONTACT SELLER .WHAT A JOKE ...NOW I AM SCREWED.HAD TO TAKE OFF 3 TIMES AND TRYED TO FIX PROBLEM....DID NOT WORK.....LOOKS LIKE IT NEED EXTENED BOOTS FOR COILS AND THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE NO WHERE.

I have an 02 F150 KR 4x4 with the 5.4l.My issue is the fuel injectors from the stock manifold will not install on this part. The only other after thought is you have to use a self threading screw (provided) to hold the coil packs instead of using the original ones that have a threaded insert in the manifold
