This mount is made from machined aluminum, and feels very strong. The design is basic, and feels solid enough to keep your lens secure. It's definitely a budget model, so there's nothing fancy about it. The price is okay for US stock. You can find these cheaper from China if you don't mind the slow shipping times.

Currently using on a different sigma lens and its a solid fit. very well made and the metal is of fantastic quality. tripod threading is easy but also not too lose. clamp is reliable too. makes using with a ball head much easier

The Hersmay Metal Tripod Clamp provides a substantial metal 'foot' for the lenses it clamps onto. It is made from a fairly light alloy and has a black crackle finish, a good match for the coating on the rear of the Sony 70-350mm lens barrel.Fitting is very simple, loosen the thumbscrew, open the clamp, fit onto the lens - the interior of the clamp is shaped, so will only fit 'the right way round', with the thumbscrew to the left and the cutout in the clamp to the right, giving access to the lens release button. Closing the clamp and tightening the thumbscrew completes the installation. There is a white dot on the outside of the clamp that should be aligned with the corresponding dot / line on the lens body for correct location on the camera body. The long Arca-Swiss compatible plate permits some adjustment to better balance the lens & camera. The Hersmay Metal Tripod Clamp would not fit correctly on my Tamron 17-70mm lens, the clamp not quite closing enough to locate the thumbscrew. It is a perfect fit on my Sony 70-350mm lens (above).A warning for anyone using a cage on their camera body - the thumbscrew may hit the side of the cage, preventing the lens fitting correctly. I have a Neewer cage on my A6700 and the sideplate extends far enough in front of the body to foul the thumbscrew.1 star lost as the specifications include the Tamron 17-70mm as suitable for the clamp. Otherwise the Hersmay Metal Tripod Clamp appears to be of sturdy build with options for further accessories to be attached to the baseplate.
