We had been using a basic tarp to go underneath our kiddie pool to prevent rips when it needed to be moved, but this would cause our toddlers to slip and fall when they were getting in and out. This mat is GREAT! Totally solved the problem, but adds traction so the kids don't fall and hit their heads/elbows/knees on the deck. We have only used it a couple times, but I am very happy with it so far. Make sure after use to hang it to dry on a deck chair or something, I could see this not lasting as long if not properly dried between uses.

This is a thin piece of felt, if you hold it up you can see through it. I can't see it doing much protection, and it's not going to cushion the pool bottom at all. The reason I gave it 2 stars was 1= I Have to give it one star to write a review. 2= It fits the 63" inch pool perfectly.
