I purchased this for my almost 80-year-old Aunt, who is not tech savvy and wanted a way to record her writing to pass down to her grandchildren. When I say she is not tech savvy, I mean her knowledge of technology ends with a flip phone and a thermostat (if she could even figure that out without someone posting instructions beside it). She has never owned a computer before in her life and barely knows how to use her cell phone.I researched more than a few options before I landed on this one. Not only did it have really good reviews, but it promised to be super easy to use, have a long-lasting battery life, produce good sound quality for playback, and be compact but not so small she couldn’t read it.She has been using it and no one had to teach her, which is a testament to how well the instructions were written and how easy it is to use the product. It’s been very functional and is well put together. She is able to use it for its intended purpose, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple portable sound recorder, no matter what age you are or what level of comfort with technology you happen to have.

Thus recorder seems to be of a good build quality. It's very lightweight and small and the unit does record voices well. However, the included headphones are poor quality and the menu of this recorder is very tiny. Everything in the menu constantly scrolls because the display is so small. The keys needed to select an item and move up and down the menus are cumbersome. There is also no way to update the internal firmware of the recorder.The built-in speaker is loud enough to clearly hear your recordings played back, however the sound quality is just OK.For the selling price, this is an OK recorder. I'd just use it for voice recording only. It is worth the lower selling price, but I prefer a better display and higher quality internal speaker for a little more money. I only recommend this if you need a basic voice recorder and low price is your main focus.
