It does what it advertised, works perfectly for organizing sockets. That said, I do prefer the flat trays that are magnetic where you just set the sockets in the hole.

These aluminum socket bars are very nicely made. They hold sockets tight and don't rust. They look great and since they have holders on both sides they save a little space in my service trucks drawers which is always a good thing.

These socket rails are shorter than my other aluminum rails, which can be handy for smaller socket sets. But having sockets on both sides of a short rail does not save a whole lot of space compared to sockets on one side of a long rail. It is shorter, but almost twice as wide, and can only lay flat in a tool chest drawer. The end caps are removable, and the different sized socket holders can be mixed, matched, added, or removed to suit your needs. The holders can also be removed from one side to make a short single-sided rail. That is what I did to make a rail just for things like drive size adapters, U-joints, screwdriver bit holders, and other non-socket items. The ball-detent holds the sockets securely, and I like being able to rotate the sockets so the sizes are all visible. As I said earlier, the end caps are removable, and they slide on and off. This may be a problem if you plan to hang them like they show in the picture. A set of large or heavy sockets may push the end cap off and land on the floor. This is a nice option for storing sockets, and I would like to see them available in a longer size.

This is a decent socket organizer, but I wish they were longer and one sided. As a double sided organizer they are hard to store in a typical tool chest, and because they are shorter its hard to store a full set of sockets on one rack. As far as organizing and holding sockets, these are much better than the basic metal clipped racks. They have a nice solid aluminum base and the socket fittings securely hold each socket in place, yet are easy to retrieve when needed. I will probably wind up ordering another set, and just use them all as single sided racks.

This storage set is far superior to the old all-metal storage set I purchased 30 years ago. This set holds more sockets; each storage system is two-sided, and they fit all three socket sizes perfectly. Sockets go on and come off the storage ‘squares’ more easily than my old storage system, as they use a ball bearing and spring arrangement to make it easy to insert and remove sockets. Sockets have a snug fit, so they will not fall off. I have lots of sockets in all three sizes, and I have both SAE and metric sockets, so this set of two storage units for each size (each one is double-sided) is perfect. I have worked on cars for over 40 years, so some of my sockets are that old. This is the way to go if you have a lot of sockets that need storage. I have tried each size, and they all fit and work well for all three sizes (1/4, 3/8, and ½ inch) sockets.

This is the first set I have seen that is double sided. I have had socket rails for years but I think these are truly a big improvement. Color coded for easy identification of 1/2 to 3/8 to 1/4. The socket holders/connectors actually have the socket holder ball vs. just being a u-shaped piece of metal. This can also be a hinderance if you have sockets that bite really well to the retainer ball, making them a little stiffer to get off.The double sided aspect is my favorite part. While some would try and put all metric on a single rail and all SAE on another, I did mine with similar sized Metric on one side and SAE on the other. I can grab one rail of sockets and be covered for either metric or SAE if I don't know what that project is going to need. I find this especially useful if it is a small engine, small appliance, misc. household project or product assembly. For automotive, I pretty much find all metric.

Great product. I really like the fact that they spin so you can read them because the old ones are never at the right angle to see them all. Only problem is I buy sets of sockets of 3/8" that come 10 to a set.. there is only 9 sockets on a rail on here, and only 8 of the 1/2" on a rail.. other than that I love em.

Exactly what I was looking for you can rotate the sockets on here fit them back to back very sleek laying a new toolbox or you can hang them up.
