I read the reviews and have to agree. After using the mattress for over a couple weeks, it proved its worth thus far. Surprisingly comfortable for something so flat, and not like the common sized spring mattress. I got a twin, which fits my old twin sheets just fine. I wonder sometimes if it’s slightly wider than my last spring mattress that I’ve had for over 30 years. Not sure though.Interestingly, I had back pain the first night of using. Maybe because I crashed asleep for almost 12 hours (insomnia kinda being an issue time to time). I sleep with this mattress on hard wood floors too. But after the first night, I haven’t had any lower back pain all the way up to today. My bf even noticed how comfortable it was after napping a couple times! Price seems fair, considering the quality of sleep! I’ll be going Japanese from this point on, i believe.I hope over time, it retains its shape after a couple years of use. Knowing that no should use the same mattress for over 30 :)

Amazing how well this futon is the modern incarnation from older, heavy, bulky, & potentially lumpy filling of much thicker futons. THIS, has none of those faults or problems ! It's light-weight for its size & is extremely comfortable. I have mine on top of a bed stand, & on top of an older futon used as a pad against the metal frame. It's perfect for sleeping, b/c there is not one noticeable problem. It's like floating, actually. It's a miracle-mat ! Great value ! Thank you so much ! 💖

I'm giving this 4 stars on account that it does appear to be good quality, but I have a major gripe with storing it. In all, it feels very comfortable, is fairly thick, and definitely big enough for one person to sleep on. It came packaged very compact in a tube. However, once unwrapped you will realize there is no easy way to fold it up at all. Due to it having a thicker foam interior, any folds you create do not stay in place and it will immediately shoot back up. There are also no creases in it or even places to add or attach straps or snaps. I have no idea how you can fold it in 3 like in the picture unless you get a thick elastic band to keep it flat. I cannot imagine how difficult a larger size would be to fold up, especially with one person.Depending on how you plan to use this, I think this could definitely be a deal breaker. It is not small space friendly or meant for occasional guest use unless you modify it and add straps/rope around it - even then it would still be kind of hassle to put away. However, if you want to keep this out as an extra floor cushion it could definitely work for that and does feel nice and durable.

This futon is much better than I expected. It looks thin at first glance, but it’s actually very comfortable to lie on. I bought it to use as an extra bed for guests, and it works perfectly. It folds easily, takes up very little space, and feels well-made. A great solution for small spaces.

I absolutely love this Japanese floor futon bed, it’s thick, comfy, and perfect for lounging or sleeping. It stays neatly in place during the day and has become my toddler’s favorite spot to play and nap. I really love that he naps on it during the day without me having to worry that he’s going to fall. My toddler is happy, so I’m a happy mom too!

Ok, so this item is so cute and convenient when you have guests! I place it on top of an air mattress and have the guest sleep on it. Quality—it’s good for the price and foldable so I can put it away. I got the twin size. It’s also soft. I also rest on the mat on carpet on it.
