I thought this would just be a simple passive circuit with some resistors and caps, just basic RC filters. Then I opened it up. The first thing I notice is that there are eight IC in here. Four TI TL074 Quad op amps, Two TI N5532 low noise dual op amps, and two JRC 5480 dual op amps. There is also a daughter board for power conditioning that has a nice inductor on it and seems well built. This circuit would rival any professional gear from the 90s, and I used to be a broadcast engineer and was deep inside a lot of this stuff. The only letdown is the cheap case. If they had spent $5 more on casing they could have sold this for at least four times the price. So the case is cheap, but the internals are quite solid. It all depends on if you care about looks or sound. If you have a 3D printer and the skillz, then you're golden.

Works great as a compact 7 band eq + the headphone amp sounds good as well. I was skeptical of this product at first but it performs very well.

it works, and equalizes, but I get a hum with this eq where there wasn't one before. and I'm not 100% sure but I want to say the sound seems a bit garbled, like especially bass feels broken up, not as clear. But I'm still using it since it's fine for my use case (mostly listening to speech) and i just want to reduce the bass anyhow.

Equalizer works but power cable it came with is unreliable, has to be bent a certain angle otherwise device power turns on and off or just stays off. Disappointing that the cable is defective and that have to buy a new cable.
