Purchased this to be used as a 'drop rod' in the muzzle of a rifle barrel in the event of a squib fire that only pushes the bullet out of the case and lodges in the barrel just forward of the chamber. Although I have never had to back pound any projectiles out of a barrel, I keep different sizes handy and take the corresponding one with me for the caliber I am shooting that day.The weight and density of the rod is sufficient to remove a stuck projectile and merely dropping the rod repeatedly into the muzzle will eventually push out the obstruction with no harm to the barrel as brass is soft and very forgiving.
