Only lasted one season. Metal is very soft. Gear is already wearing down and the bushing wore out and is no longer round, it is egg shaped.

Says that it is a replacement for 717-1554, it does not! The bushing is too thick. The pinion gear was correct though.

It's a tight spot where you must slip in the hex flange and realign the steering column through it all. You might also need to remove the mower deck to get better access. This isn't a flaw in the actual product but a note to be patient about doing this replacement. HIGHLY recommend replacing both the pinion and hex flange at the same time regardless of the condition of the one in your tractor now. I found out the hard way and stripped the new pinion gear and had to buy another one because the old hex flange in my tractor crumbled soon after. The cost of this part along with your time and patience are well worth it compared to buying a new tractor.

Bought in March for my cub cadet and it lasted till June should have lasted longer than 3 months. Especially with new gear plate. And bushings.
