Fit and worked well, in addition to the idle speed screw there is what I can assume is a mixture screw on the bottom of the carburetor, I installed the carburetor and the engine ran, but not well, I removed the carburetor and turned the screw in about 1/4 turn reinstalled and now it runs great!

While installing this component, I noticed that one of the fuel lines that connects to the primer bulb was loose. When I removed the hose the fuel came out. Due to vibration of the tool I was installing it on, I’m afraid I can’t use the carburetor because I know the fuel line will work itself loose and fall out. This was a bad purchase. I will try another brand to repair my tool.

I have a Troy Bilt TB6044XP that needed a carburetor n fuel lines this kit came with everything including a spark plug. It didn’t come with a wire to pull fuel line through hole. I just used some stiff wire I had, cut the fuel line at angle drilled a small hole at end and used wire like a fish hook n pulled it through. Added little 3n1 oil to make it slide better.

Level set: I'm an engineer and work on anything. Have worked on plenty of engines, though never a string trimmer in detail. I'm not a small engine mechanic and have never got beyond the adjustment screw here before.Replaced carb and all the fuel system in my Troy-Bilt string trimmer. Incrementally replaced carb, priming bulb, hoses with no success, then finally to the last and most difficult part, the fuel filter and its intake hose which passes through the gas tank wall. You have to push that hose through a much smaller hole into the gas tank until there is enough length inside the tank to grab with your longest needle nose pliers. To start the fat hose into the small hole I melted the end of the hose, stretched it to a smaller diameter "pilot", stuffed it in, worked it into the hole with pliers. Recall the jokes about "pushing a rope"? Yeah, it's that bad. Maybe the professionals drill out the gas tank holes to make it easier, don't know.Anyhow, once that last bit, the intake filter and hose was replaced, that string trimmer fired up and ran smooth. It maybe runs smoother than the original. Operating that 4-stroke Troy-Bilt trimmer always felt a bit like carrying a miniature Harley around, heavy, vibrating, missing. And Troy-Bilt used that cheap gas hose that apparently collapsed and caused me this grief. I probably won't buy another Troy-Bilt.But this kit did the job! Do the work, and your engine should run.
