In the "off" position, the spring-loaded ball plunges down on the O-ring seat to secure any leak from the Petcock to the carburetor. The lever motion is virtually friction-free; using an internal ball bearing system that reduces the effort needed to move the lever. The ball bearings completely eliminate traditionally rough, sticky or frozen valve action. They hold each valve position firmly in place, unaffected by vibration. The 90 degree movement between each detent ensures safe positive Transition from "on" to "reserve" while riding. This Petcock valves can be altered to set the amount of reserve gas available by shortening or removing (twist off) the reserve pickup tube for racing or shallow tanks (see illustration). for cruisers and radical custom tanks, long petcocks are available. It appears to be a well made part, went on the bike fairly easy and have had only a short chance, due to work, to check it out right after installation. It did well, didn't leak, going to give it a good ride and test this weekend. My only gripe is that the part is sold as "black" and thought it would look great contrasting with my aztec orange fatboy gas tank. Well, the part they sent me was actually kind of an army green and putting it on I kind of scuffed up the paint a little. I guess I will now throw a little black paint on it and give it a "camo" look. If I had known it was green instead of black I would have went with the chrome one.

Solid product.. Works well description basically says it all.. Way too pricey but if you only have 1 bike you'll only need to buy it once. 😉
