If you need to tear down your diesel heater to clean it this is a good kit to have. I have a diesel heater that hasn't been torn down and cleaned for nearly 5 years. I was able to tear the heater down, clean the soot out of the chamber, replace the atomizing screen with the included tools., replace the glow plug with the included tool, and install new gaskets. My heater now works like new again and ready for next season. I'd prefer to see the metal style gasket for the burn chamber but most heaters use these gaskets now and they seem to work fine. You should be careful handling these gaskets as some have been reported to contain asbestos. This kit does not contain any instructions but you can find numerous instructional videos online.

We try to follow the sun North and South (like snow birds) but being from Minnesota originally, we tend to like hanging behind with the loons rather than speeding forward like the hummingbirds as the sun gets lower in the sky. So, like the loons, it's very common for us to be in freezing temps during the winters. As such, we have two diesel heaters installed to help keep the boat warm inside. I can't say enough good about having diesel heaters, mainly because our engines also run on diesel fuel and we can carry 1500 gallons of it. Diesel heaters are very safe (when installed correctly) and efficient. They just sip the diesel fuel and the only electricity used after they're lit is used by the 12v forced air fan. The only downside is that they do create a lot of moisture in the air that needs to be vented out or you end up with condensation on the walls and windows.This is a commonly configured kit but it only includes the gaskets for the 5kW and 8kW heaters (the 8kW's are really still 5kW and the 5kW's are really closer to 4kW). The ad says it's also good for the smaller 2kW units but it doesn't come with the gaskets for them. Other than that, the only negative is that my kit arrived in just a plastic bag and the gaskets were deformed (bent). I was able to get them straightened back into shape without tearing them so they should still be good but they should be shipped with some sort of cardboard backing to prevent that damage.I've done a bit of market research on Amazon for this specific type of product and find that at the current $18 price this is priced on the high side of the market. There are numerous others that do include the gaskets for the smaller heaters and are more competitively priced than this.
