I decided to get these for two purposes. First, I need them to be used for the safety chain as intended. Second, I needed some additional tie-down locations in the middle/side of the trailer and I figured these would be good for that. The project I am working on is a boat trailer and these really are perfect for my needs. The links look great, nice and thick and they arrived in a small box wrapped up 4 in some parchment paper and another 4 in parchment. Of course, they are raw steel so they will be dirty, it's just the nature of the material. But a quick clean and a fat bead with my arc welder and these aren't going anywhere.Since I had 4 leftover I decided to weld on two more up front for backup straps in case the winch fails. The final two I wiped down with a thin coat of marvel mystery oil and they're sitting in my garage waiting on my next project.

I used these for a trailer re-hab project and welded them directly to the frame for tie down points. You can use larger ratchet straps or bungie cords for your cargo. After I welded them they took paint well and work great. I feel like they are thick & high quality & will last for a while.
