These bowls are wonderful! I live in a multi-generational household that includes my three young grandsons, and their preferred colors of eating-ware are red, green, and blue (each child has his own color). So when I saw these wheat straw bowls, I decided they would be a perfect addition to our house because we're always short on bowls. Wheat straw is a sustainable alternative to plastic or ceramic made from leftover wheat stalks after the grains are harvested. The stalks are repurposed into a durable material for all sorts of household items. The stalks contain lignin and cellulose that can be broken down to create polymers with plastic-like qualities. Wheat straw items are Eco-friendly because they are made from a renewable resource, durable because they are lightweight and shatterproof, food-safe because they are BPA free (which is important to me as a grammy with three small grandsons), anti-bacterial and anti-odor resistant, and microwave and dishwasher safe. These bowls are also adorable because each color has its own mascot: a monkey, a panda, a giraffe, and an elephant. They are large enough so the boys won't spill their cereal milk over the side, and there is plenty of room for extra brooth when we have ramen. They can also be used for popcorn and other snacks and during craft time to hold beads or Legos or pieces of building projects. And since there is an extra color- the yellow with the monkey- Grammy will always have a bowl for herself unless my son steals it away for his cereal! In that case, I'll order another set, which won't be a problem because the price is affordable at just $1.60 a bowl.

Very nice bowls. Very durable and are dishwasher safe. Good colors and the size is perfect for cereal. It says they are microwave safe but I haven’t put them in the microwave.
