About this item

  • Precision Made Solid Aluminum body 8" dia by 1.5" with CBN on the face and 1" of CBN on each side of the wheel. Corners are 1/4 inch radius.. For 5/8 inch arbor shaft.
  • Designed for use with slow speed 8 inch bench type grinders; 1800 RPM or 3600RPM
  • Will never need dressing, or truing. Wheel Diameter stays the same, so you will not need to be keep adjusting your jig.
  • Use with High Speed Steel (HSS)Tools Only
  • Note: These wheels are made with very tight tolerance's. The arbor hole is precisely cut to .62504to.62512 inches. The shaft on many grinding motors are not as precise, and may be slightly larger then .625 inch. This will cause an interference fit. A little bit of emery cloth on the shaft will help get the wheel on.

Never used my delta VSP bench grinder much bc the stones sucked so bad. I'd go to a zirconia or ceramic flapper disc first. I've used diamond tools on steel and it's ok. Those cut off wheels work ok, but normal disc seemed faster. CBN is a totally different animal. It cuts steel amazingly well, little heat gets put into the work, like a flap disc. I had to true up my grinder shaft and used conical discs and machined washers. The washers sent with this disc are stamped but seem ok. After trueing the shafts within .001 with the discs on, these seem really well balanced. No shake or vibration. Holding a thin long strip of 18g steel on each edge while running, these discs cut with ease and the strip doesn't bounce, so I assume everything is centered well.If you mess with steel more than a few times a week, these are must. Wouldn't ever waste my time with stone discs again.

Everything a person needs, large face, one inch on each side for sharpening and honing. It does a great job and last a long time. Excellent investment.
