About this item

  • 1.EASY TO OPERATE : Good flow and reduced clogging enhance the efficiency of abrasives media in the sand blasters or blast cabinet.
  • 2.HIGH HARDNESS : Mohs' hardness 9.3, silicon carbide sand blasting media is harder than aluminum oxide.
  • 3.RAPID CLEANING AND RUST REMOVAL: The abrasive medium has extremely sharp edges, resulting in shorter blast times compared to other media.
  • 4.PARTICLE SIZE : #46≈0.32mm, #60≈0.25mm, #80≈0.18mm, #100≈0.15mm, #120≈0.12mm, #150≈0.10mm.( Unit: Millimeters )
  • 5.HOW TO USE IT RIGHT : Larger particles will lead to more thorough cleaning, Smaller particles will lead to a smoother surface.

Product Description

DOES SILICONE CARBIDE ABRASIVE WORK BETTER IN ONE INDUSTRY VS . ANOTHER?

Silicon Carbide Sand Blasting Media

Industries that benefit from silicon carbide abrasive are:

Silicon carbide abrasives can be used in automobiles, electric systems, power electronic devices and LEDs, quantum physics, graphene production, steel production, carborundum printmaking, thin filament pyrometry, astronomy and more. They work best in industries and manufacturing sectors that require reliable metal cleaning, finishing and preparation.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Silicon Carbide Abrasives

Benefits of silicon carbide abrasive follow:

Silicon carbide is used as an abrasive due to its hardness. What sets the ceramic material apart from other abrasives is its high-temperature strength, high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion. First, manufacturers mold silicon carbide grit into an angular grain shape. Silicon carbide media then begins the process of breaking down constantly to yield incredibly sharp edges.

Haven't had a chance to use this for sandblasting, but I often use carbide with a rolling mill for rocks. This is a nice material that seems to be on point with the 80 grit rating. Fairly hefty and high quality. If I were to use this for sandblasting I'd use a cabinet to recapture some of it.
